Minnesota Telephone Assistance Plan (TAP)

The Minnesota Telephone Assistance Plan (TAP) provides monthly telephone service discounts on one landline or wireless telephone per household.  The current discount for landline providers is $10.00.  TAP is available to those behind in paying their bills.  Lifeline recipients will be automatically enrolled in the TAP program as required by Minnesota law and applicable Commission orders.  Unlike TAP which is used to reduce the cost of local exchange telephone service for eligible households, Lifeline credits may be used for broadband internet services in addition to landline telephone services.  More information about  the Minnesota TAP is available from the Minnesota Public Utilities Commission's website: https://mn.gov/puc/consumers/telephone/
